Obsolete Elegance is a wild performance where humour, transformation and freaks come together. It’s four women experimenting with surreal costumes. Inspired by the deformed, by that which is broken and torn apart, they create a new world far beyond reality. Using circus techniques such as acro-dance and rope, as well as comedy and visual effects, they end up in an energetic rush.

The artists
Cie Humo y Polvo & Las Corpa
The company Humo y Polvo, or smoke and dust in French, was founded in 2022 by Chilean artist Martina
Calvo and Swiss artist Morgane Maret. They met during their three years of study
together at ESAC (Brussels). Their shared interests in acro-dance and the visual arts led them to explore and question together, culminating in the creation of their first show as a duo: I dreamt I had hairy teeth. They create cinematographic universes with sensitivity and strength, seeking to challenge societal stereotypes about women.
Las Corpa was born in 2019 when aerial acrobat Lorena Di Bello and acro-dancer Martina Calvo met at ESAC (Brussels). United by their artistic vision and friendship, they began to create captivating performances, producing events such as circus cabarets, themed evenings and a circus meeting in Sicily called Let it Flow meeting. This pivotal moment triggered a journey of creativity and exploration, propelling them to new heights in their productions.
