Käpälin
Hands Some Feet [Fi/Aus]
Wood & juggling
KÄPÄLIN (“by hand” in Finnish) is an ode to all handworkers in the form of a contemporary circus performance. In this all ages performance, Jeromy Nuuk combines his two professions as a furniture maker and circus artist. The piece takes place in a small woodworking studio. By using a wood lathe and other tools Jeromy fabricates wooden balls of different sizes. While working on these daily tasks, he discovers and explores the unexpected symbiotic nature of juggling and the wooden element. Through the artist’s love and passion of throwing things in the air (and catching them again) Jeromy takes the spectators on a spellbinding journey that travels far and beyond his little woodworking studio!
KÄPÄLIN is a gritty and alluring performance that encompasses the true essence of a worker’s blood, sweat and tears.
